Required documents

1. Resume/CV

• Your resume/CV should be no more than three pages and should include the contact details of two professional/direct supervisor referees.
• DO NOT include copies of certificates or referee reports with your application.

2. Written statement of purpose

Your statement of purpose should be between 800-1000 words, which addresses below four key criteria. In your written statement, you must include succinct, high-level relevant examples that support your claims against the role.

Key criteria are:

• Well-developed planning and organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a high volume, client-focused environment in order to achieve required outcomes and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of strategic communication and community engagement strategies, including the creation of digital content for a variety of digital platforms.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills that demonstrate the ability to develop and implement key public events for the Embassy, including the ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks and show initiative.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with internal and external stakeholders, working effectively as part of a diverse team of colleagues and with external suppliers.

All employees at the Australian Embassy are subject to satisfactory medical and security vetting.  Applicants must be able to work as a locally engaged staff member at a diplomatic mission, possess a valid passport or be able to obtain a valid passport, and be willing to travel within Laos, regionally, and internationally as required.
