The Australian Embassy is advertising on-going positions to support the implementation of Australia’s development assistance program in the Lao PDR.
These roles present exciting career and learning opportunities, including the opportunity to work collaboratively across the Embassy and contribute to some of Australia’s most important work in the Lao PDR. We are seeking experienced and dynamic individuals to fill the roles, with the ability to work independently and as part of teams.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Work experience in the development sector or diplomatic missions
- Tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated expertise in relevant fields, including human development (education, health, gender, disability, inclusion, social protection and civil society)
- Demonstrated experience in managing development assistance programs including public diplomacy, financial management, contract management, and monitoring and evaluation
- Experience applying sound judgment based on a strong understanding of the Lao Government and Laos’ development context
- Well-developed analytical and report writing skills in topics related to human development, international NGO engagement and civil society in Laos
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English and Lao
- Experience in assessing and managing program risk
- Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Word and Excel, and social media platforms.
