ສະບາຍດີ ຕອນເຊົ້າທຸກທ່ານ ແລະ ຍິນດີຕ້ອນຮັບ ເພື່ອນຮ່ວມງານ ຂອງພວກເຮົາ ທີ່ເປັນ ລັດຖະບານລາວ, ອາສາສະໝັກອົດສະຕຣາລີ ແລະ ຜູ້ຮ່ວມງານ ຂອງເຂົາເຈົ້າ ຈາກອົງການຂອງຄົນພິການ ລາວ.
Good morning everyone, and a special welcome to our Lao Government colleagues, our Australian volunteers, and their partners from Lao Disabled People’s Organisations.

I am delighted to have an opportunity today to show our support for inclusive development here in Laos, and to acknowledge the fantastic work of this team of volunteers in helping to make inclusive opportunities a reality here.

Most of us don’t have to think twice about leaving the house – we don’t have to be worried about whether we will be able to legally drive to work, be able to get into the building, use a bathroom, or join our colleagues for sport after work.
ແຕ່ວ່າຫຼາຍກວ່າ 100,000(ໜຶ່ງແສນ) ຄົນ ໃນລາວ ທຸກໆມື້ ເລື່ອງເຫຼົ່ານີ້ແມ່ນຄວາມກັງວົນຂອງເຂົາເຈົ້າ.
But for over 100,000 people in Laos, these concerns are an everyday reality.

We hope bringing Chris, Leone, Shelley, and Nikki to Laos has helped open people’s eyes to the kinds of barriers people with a disability face to participate fully in society – as they have been supporting the organisations trying to remove those barriers.
ໃນເວລາ 3-4 ອາທິດ ທີມງານ ແລກປ່ຽນ ຄວາມສາມາດ ໃນການເສີມສ້າງຄວາມເຂັ້ມແຂງ ໃຫ້ຄົນພິການ (ຫຼື ທີມງານ DESE) ໄດ້ເຮັດວຽກຢ່າງຂ້ຽວເຂັນ ກັບຫຼາຍ ອົງການ.
In just a few short weeks, the Disability Empowerment Skills Exchange team has been working intensively with a range of partners.

They have been supporting capacity development and employment opportunities for staff the Lao Disabled Women’s Development Centre.
ທີມງານ DESE ໄດ້ຊ່ວຍ ສະມາຄົມຄົນພິການລາວ ໃນການສ້າງແຜນງານຍຸດທະສາດ ຂອງສະມາຄົມ.
Our team have been helping the Lao Disabled Peoples Association develop their business strategy.
ແລະ ເຂົາເຈົ້າຍັງໄດ້ເຝິກຊ້ອມ ບານບ້ວງຄົນພິການ ທີມຊາດລາວ ເພື່ອຊ່ວຍໃຫ້ເຂົາເຈົ້າ ຊະນະຫຼຽນຄຳ ໃນ ກິລາ ຄົນພິການ ASEAN ທີ່ Malaysia ໃນເດືອນ ກັນຍານີ້.
And they have been coaching Laos’ Wheelchair Basketball team to help them win gold in the ASEAN Para Games in Malaysia this September.

Today we will hear more about these achievements – achievements which, we hope, are just the beginning.

The Australian Government is, like our partners here in Laos, committed to an inclusive development agenda that takes account of people with disability, to ensure no-one is left behind.
ພວກເຮົາມີຄວາມພະຍາຍາມສູງ ໃນການປະຕິບັດນະໂນບາຍນີ້ ເຂົາໃນໂຄງການຊ່ວຍເຫຼືອ ຢູ່ ສປປ ລາວ - ໂດຍການສົ່ງເສີມ ການສຶກສາແບບຮອບດ້ານ, ການເຂົ້າເຖິງທຶນການສຶກສາ ແລະ ການຝຶກອົບຮົມ ພາສາອັງກິດ ແບບມີເປົ້າໝາຍ.
We strive to implement this through our aid program in Laos – by promoting inclusive education, accessibility to scholarships, and targeted English language training.
ແລະ ຍັງມີການໃຫ້ການຊ່ວຍເຫຼືອ ແກ່ອົງການຂອງຄົນພິການ ຜ່ານກອງທືນຂະໜາດນ້ອຍ ແລະ ຜ່ານອາສາສະໜັກ ຂອງພວກເຮົາ.
And through our support for Disabled People’s Organisations through our small grants program (called DAP) and our volunteers.
