Australia provides 20 new scholarships at Luang Prabang’s Souphanouvong University
Twenty students from remote and disadvantaged districts in the northern provinces of Laos have been awarded scholarships by Australia to study at Souphanouvong University in Luang Prabang. These scholarships are part of the Laos Australia National Scholarships (LANS) program.
Over 410 students have studied under this program at the National University of Laos and Souphanouvong University over the past five years.
At a ceremony today at Souphanouvong University, representatives of the Government of Australia met with university officials to congratulate the students. The scholarship recipients include students from disadvantaged districts in the northern provinces of Luang Prabang, Luangnamtha, Oudomxay, Huaphanh and Xiengkhuang. At Souphanouvong University , the students will be studying four year degree programs in science, education, economics, IT, tourism, engineering and architecture. The LANS scholarship covers all fees and living allowances for the duration of the course as well as an Academic Support Program to expand their skills and help them to make the most of their potential opportunities.
Mr Andreas Zurbrugg, Deputy Head of Mission of the Australian Embassy noted that the LANS program was an important part of Australia’s aid program to strengthen the human resources of the Lao PDR to ensure economic growth and competitiveness in the ASEAN Economic Community. “LANS is a central part of Australia’s support for the Government’s human resource development priorities,” he added. “By focussing on talented students from remote communities and disadvantaged backgrounds, Australia is helping ensure Laos is able to tap into the full potential of its vibrant, young population.”
Mr Zurbrugg was joined at the awards ceremony by Associate Professor Vixay Chansavang, Vice President of Souphanouvong University.

ນັກສຶກສາຈຳນວນ 20 ຄົນ ຈາກເມືອງໃນເຂດຫ່າງໄກສອກຫຼີກ ແລະ ດ້ອຍໂອກາດ ໃນແຂວງພາກເໜືອຂອງລາວ ໄດ້ຮັບທຶນການສຶກສາຈາກອົດສະຕຣາລີ. ທຶນການສຶກສານີ້ແມ່ນເພື່ອສຶກສາໃນມະຫາວິທະຍາໄລສຸພານຸວົງ ທີ່ແຂວງຫຼວງພະບາງນີ້ ເຊິ່ງແມ່ນສ່ວນໜຶ່ງຂອງໂຄງການທຶນການສຶກສາ ລາວ-ອົດສະຕຣາລີ ສຳລັບຮຽນພາຍໃນປະເທດ (LANS) ທີ່ໄດ້ຮັບການສະໜັບສະໜູນໂດຍລັດຖະບານອົດສະຕຣາລີ.
ນັກສຶກສາຫຼາຍກວ່າ 410 ຄົນ ໄດ້ສຶກສາພາຍໃຕ້ການສະໜັບສະໜູນຂອງໂຄງການນີ້ ທີ່ມະຫາວິທະຍາໄລແຫ່ງຊາດ ແລະ ມະຫາວິທະຍາໄລສຸພານຸວົງ ໃນໄລຍະ 5 ປີ ຜ່ານມາ.
ທີ່ພິທີມອບຮັບທຶນມື້ນີ້ ທີ່ມະຫາວິທະຍາໄລສຸພານຸວົງ, ຕາງໜ້າໃຫ້ລັດຖະບານອົດສະຕຣາລີ ຮ່ວມກັບມະຫາວິທະຍາໄລສຸພານຸວົງໄດ້ສະແດງຄວາມຍິນດີຕໍ່ນັກສຶກສາທີ່ໄດ້ຮັບທຶນໃໝ່. ນັກສຶກສາທີ່ໄດ້ຮັບທຶນລວມມີນັກສຶກສາທີ່ມາຈາກເມືອງທີ່ດ້ອຍໂອກາດ ໃນແຂວງພາກເໜືອຂອງລາວ ເຊິ່ງມີແຂວງຫຼວງພະບາງ, ຫຼວງນ້ຳທາ, ອຸດົມໄຊ, ຫົວພັນ ແລະ ຊຽງຂວາງ. ທີ່ມະຫາວິທະຍາໄລສຸພານຸວົງ, ນັກສຶກສາເຫຼົ່ານີ້ຈະຮຽນໃນລະດັບປະລິນຍາຕີຫຼັກສູດ 4 ປີ ໃນຂະແໜງວິທະຍາສາດ, ສຶກສາສາດ, ເສດຖະສາດ, ເຕັກໂນໂລຊີຂໍ້ມູນຂ່າວສານ, ການທ່ອງທ່ຽວ, ວິສະວະກຳສາດ ແລະ ສະຖາປັດຕະຍະກຳ. ທຶນການສຶກສາ LANS ສະໜັບສະໜູນຄ່າໃຊ້ຈ່າຍໃນການຮຽນທັງໝົດ ແລະ ອັດຕາກິນ ຕະຫຼອດໄລຍະການຮຽນ ລວມທັງສະໜອງຫຼັກສູດເສີມເພື່ອຂະຫຍາຍທັກສະຕ່າງໆສຳລັບນັກສຶກສາ ແລະ ເຮັດໃຫ້ເຂົາເຈົ້າໄດ້ຮັບປະໂຫຍດສູງສຸດຈາກໂອກາດຕ່າງໆທີ່ເປັນໄປໄດ້.
