ຂໍຕາງໜ້າໃຫ້ ຄະນະ ທູຕານຸທູດ, ຂ້າພະເຈົ້າ ຮູ້ສຶກເປັນກຽດ ແລະ ຍິນດີເປັນຢ່າງຍິ່ງ ທີ່ໄດ້ ມີໂອກາດ ມາກ່າວຄຳ ຊົມເຊີຍ ຕໍ່ປະຊາຊົນ ແລະ ລັດຖະບານ ສປປລາວ ເນື່ອງໃນໂອກາດ ສະເຫຼີມ ສະຫຼອງ ວັນຊາດ ແຫ່ງ ສປປລາວ ຄົບຮອບ 42 ປີ.
On behalf of the diplomatic corps, I am honoured and delighted to extend our congratulations to the government and people of the Lao PDR as you celebrate your 42nd National Day
ປະຊາຊົນລາວ ທົ່ວປະເທດ ມີຫຼາຍສິ່ງ ທີ່ຕ້ອງໄດ້ ສະຫຼອງ, ແລະ ມີສິດ ທີ່ຈະພາກພູມໃຈ ວ່າ ຕະຫຼອດໄລຍະ 42 ປີ ຜ່ານມາ ປະເທດໜຸ່ມນ້ອຍນີ້ ຍາດໄດ້ຜົນງານຫຍັງແດ່, ເລີ່ມຈາກໄລຍະ ຫຍຸ້ງຍາກ ທີ່ສຸດ ໃນປີ 1975.
The people of the Lao PDR have much to celebrate, and are right to be proud of how much this young country has achieved over the past 42 years, from very humble beginnings back in 1975

A number of Ambassadors and their spouses joined me on a visit to Xiengkhouang and Hua Phan provinces a few weeks ago

A visit taking in Viengxay Caves – the birthplace, in many ways, of this nation.
ແລະຍັງແມ່ນ ບ່ອນກຳເນີດ ຂອງ ຜູ້ນຳ ຫຼາຍທ່ານ ຂອງ ສປປ ລາວ
And the birthplace of a number of leaders in this room.

We came away from that visit with a much better appreciation of the spirit and resolve of your founding fathers, and mothers, and the challenges they strove to overcome

And we also left Hua Phan, after many scenic hours on windy, mountain-top roads, with an even clearer sense of the challenges of geography the Lao Government still faces today.

I know I speak on behalf of my fellow Ambassadors, when I welcome the resolve of the Government led by President Bounngang and Prime Minister Thongloun to reform and strengthen governance across this country, and to better protect your natural resources.

As someone who has had the privilege to visit every province over the past four years, I know Laos has a wealth of destinations to showcase to the world
