Australian Government’s Endeavour Awards: 2013 online applications are now open

Lao scholars, researchers and professionals are encouraged to apply for the 2013 Endeavour Awards. These merit-based scholarships provide opportunities to undertake study, research and professional development in Australia. The Endeavour Awards are offered in addition to Australian Development Scholarships, for which applications are also currently being received.

Endeavour Awards, part of the Australia Awards initiative, promote leadership, research and academic excellence and build linkages between Australia and countries in this region, including the Lao PDR. Endeavour Awards are open to all fields of study and there is no age limit for applicants.

Last year, five high-achieving Lao scholars and professionals won prestigious Endeavour Awards for study, research and professional development in Australia.

“The Endeavour Awards, as well as the Australian Development Scholarships, provide a range of scholarship options to Lao students to study in Australia. I am confident that, after their return from Australia, all our Award recipients will apply their new knowledge, skills, and experiences to make important contributions to the Lao PDR” the Australian Ambassador to Laos, HE Ms Lynda Worthaisong said.

The Endeavour Awards also provide opportunities for Australians to undertake research and professional development in the Lao PDR. To date, four Australians have undertaken Endeavour Awards for research and professional development in the Lao PDR.

Applications for the 2013 Endeavour Awards open on 1 April 2012 and close on 30 June 2012. Further information is available at: www.deewr.gov.au/EndeavourAwards

Applications for the 2013 Australian Development Scholarships are already open and close on 4 April 2012. Further information is available at: www.lao-australianscholarships.com
